Gulfstream Park

Gulfstream is a horse-racing track in Hallandale Beach, Florida, USA. It opened in 1939, at Federal Hwy.

History

Since 1939, Gulfstream has been considered as one of the finest Thoroughbred racetracks. It is located in Hallandale Beach, Florida, Gulfstream Park, which today also has a casino, a shopping mall, and dining options.

Its first four-day race meet was conducted in front of 18,000 people. The track was closed but reopened in 1944 by James Donn, Sr., for a 20 day meet in December. In 1946, the first Gulfstream Park Handicap happened, and in 1952, the Florida Derby commenced.

It also introduced the Pegasus World Cup last 2017. The inaugural running offered a $12 million reward, the wealthiest horse race in the world that outmatched the Dubai World Cup.
