    Big Hambo Day For Great Scott

    For Scott Zeron, Hambletonian Day might just have been the best one he’s ever had.

    The 27-year-old driver guided Marion Marauder to victory in the 91st Hambletonian for 3-year-old trotters Saturday afternoon at the Meadowlands before a crowd of 20,122.

    The winner came first over to grab the lead in the stretch before holding off the late charge of 2-1 second choice Southwind Frank to win by a nose in 1:51.4.

    Meadowlands Pace highlights a full schedule of Grand Circuit

    East Rutherford, NJ --- Entries have been taken for one of the biggest nights of the harness racing season with The Crawford Farms Meadowlands Pace highlighting a full slate of Grand Circuit events at The Meadowlands on Saturday (July 16).

    “The Greatest Party in Harness Racing” will begin at a special early post time of 6:30 p.m.

    The Pace has been drawn and a competitive group of 10 top sophomores led by Racing Hill and Control The Moment will battle for $732,050 and the trophy.

    Sun Stakes Saturday includes big showdown in Franklin Championship

While the races for the 3-year-olds will provide exciting contests and help provide early season pecking order, the main focus will be on one event, the Showdown.

    The Clash of the Titans – Always B Miki, Freaky Feet Pete, and Wiggle It Jiggleit – in the $500,000 Ben Franklin FFA Pace Championship, race 11 on the 14-race card Saturday at Pocono, which is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. first post.

    Betting Line is the favorite for the $1 Million North America Cup

    CAMPBELLVILLE, June 14 – Betting Line and Boston Red Rocks, both impressive winners of last weekend’s eliminations, headline a field of 10 for the $1 million Pepsi North America Cup, Saturday at Mohawk Racetrack.

    The 33rd edition of the world’s richest pacing event, showcasing the finest three-year-olds on the continent, will go postward at 10:40 p.m. EDT. The winner earns $500,000. It marks the 16th year of Pepsi’s sponsorship.

    North America Cup attracts 18 entrants at Mohawk

    CAMPBELLVILLE, June 7 – The finest three-year-old pacers in harness racing will go postward Saturday night at Mohawk Racetrack in two eliminations for the 33rd Pepsi North America Cup.

    A total of 18 three-year-old pacing colts and geldings have been split into a pair of $50,000 eliminations. The top five finishers from each nine-horse elimination will advance to the $1 million Pepsi North America Cup final on Saturday, June 18.
