Saturday Picks 8-4-17

Good day and thanks for stopping by the “return edition” of Jason’s Dog Blog.

In this article I will handicapping greyhound betting at three races from Southland Greyhound Park.  All these races will be taking place on the Saturday Matinee card.

Race #8 – I will be keying the #1 PJS Settin Fires in quinielas and box exactas.  After drawing a series of middle boxes to begin her racing career, this red female should appreciate drawing the rail in this maiden contest.  Although this 60-pounder has very little early speed, I think she will find lots of room today to use her good late speed and finish in the exacta. I will be using the #3 Poppy Episode, #4 Safe Harbour,  #7 Fly Killer Whale, and the #8 Win Biglee with PJS Settin Fires.   I will press the 1-7 combination as Killer Whale figures to be a solid favorite.

Race #10 – I will be keying an old class greyhound in the #1 Kiss My Dust.   I think this daughter of Kc And All and Angel Tree has a good chance to rebound off a dreadful trip in her last start.   In that race, this early speedster broke a step slow, had no room early and finished a dismal last.  With a sharp break on Saturday, I think Kiss My Dust has a chance to rebound at a decent price. I will be using the #2 XKT Dave Turin, #3 Flying Tequila, #7 Barts Bold Ruler, and the #8 Ozzy Pawsborne with my key greyhound in quinielas.

Race #18 – I really like the #1 Crossfire Clyde in the finale on Southland’s afternoon card.  Crossfire Clyde has been facing much better greyhounds in his last few starts and shifts over to the middle distance course.  Earlier in his career, Clyde was a stakes winner at Tri-State over their middle distance course.  If this son of Oshkosh Slammer and Gogo Stitches can clear close to the pace, he should be ultra tough in this contest. I will be keying the #1 over the #3 Dancewithdadevil, #5 Kilo Daffy Duck, and the #8 WW’sAlice in trifectas.  I think the #7 Sawgus could be a vulnerable favorite in this race.

Good luck in all your wagers today!!
