Racecourse of Crau
Ashburton Raceway is a horse-racing track in Allenton, Ashburton, New Zealand. It opened in 1878, at 35 Racecourse Road.
History
The racecourse was constructed in 1882 and renovated in 1996, including an extension, a new building including a restaurant, stands, changing rooms, and administrative offices. It is situated in RN 113 Route d’Arles – 13300 Salon-de-Provence, in the Provences Alpes Côte d’Azur region in south-eastern France. It is 6 km away from Salon-de-Provence train station and 25 km away from Marignane airport. The Hippodrome de Salon de Provence also named Hippodrome de la Crau.
Track Details
It covers 21 hectares and can accommodate 2,500 people with free Parking. A turf track (grass) for flat races classified as Regional Pole in 1st category also has a rope on the left. It has a length of 1,460m, a width of 22m, and a straight line of 405m. The all-weather (pozzolana) track for trotting races is classified in the 1st category, measuring 1,326m in length, 20m width, and a straight line of 405m.
It can also host parties, weddings, birthdays, ceremonies, seminars, etc. A playground for children and a visit to the training center is available. There is also a panoramic restaurant and a Buvette, fast food.
