Saturday Gulfstream Play – March 22nd

Last week we got Lady Claypole home at a nice price. She didn’t quite go off her 20-1 morning line but 11-1 in a small field was just fine by me. Like we discussed anytime you think the longest shot on the board has a realistic chance you just about must bet.

I don’t like anything quite that price this week, but these is a horse sprinting at Gulfstream Park on the grass in The Texas Glitter who caught my eye.

Turbulent Force will have a cozy rail draw going back on the grass and getting off the synthetic. I think Dylan Davis who is riding very good will play that break and clear if he can or perhaps and what I expect more sit an inside cat bird type trip. There is no shortage of speed in here and that includes likely favorite the returning from Ascot Gabaldon.

Turbulent Force ran good in both starts and should be a bit more grown up and at least a little faster than when we last saw him in July. The works are good, and Weaver can bring them back sharp. Most eyes will be on the three-year olds at the Fair Grounds and also at Turfway Park and yes, I’ll be watching there also but many times on those days you can scope out some value opportunities elsewhere. We will also see the return of Sierra Leone who looks like a major player for the rest of the year.

The AmWager Racing Moment this week was a NO BRAINER:

You can find all the info on the best Kentucky Derby Seminar in the game RIGHT HERE, tell them AmWager sent you!

Let’s see if we can do a little more damage this weekend.

Coast to Coast Horses

While all the focus shifts to Kentucky and The Kentucky Derby it can be wise and profitable to look at other venues for value and underlays. It is difficult to catch all the sharks sleeping but at this time of...

A Keeneland Double

In the mile and a half Elkhorn I am not convinced Rebel Red can’t handle the distance. I see a horse who improving and getting good towards the end of last year. He tried a marathon for the first time...

The 2025 Lexington Stakes

The Lexington offers three year olds a last chance at possibly making the field for The Kentucky Derby. That said I did not view any of the contenders as likely Derby horses even if they won. The Preakness is another...
