Century Mile
Century Mile is a horse-racing track in Edmonton International Airport, Alberta, Canada. It opened in 2019, at Airport Perimeter Road.
History
It was on April 1, 2019, when Century Mile was opened as a replacement for Northlands Park. It is a casino and horse racing track found next to the Edmonton International Airport and owned by Century Casinos. It is also one of two “A-level” horse racing venues in the province of Alberta and the only one-mile racetrack in Western Canada.
Track Details
The course type of this track is flat, one mile (eight furlongs). Its thoroughbred racing starts from April to August, while the Standardbred racing starts from September to January. There is an off-track betting area for simulcast wagering for both Thoroughbred and Standardbred racing from around North America. Moreover, they also have dining facilities (The Derby Restaurant, open daily), a lounge (bar and sports), and The Finish Line Restaurant, a buffet for live racing days.
It also has 800 stalls and veterinarian space and serves a free guided tour, showcasing their horses, riders, and drivers during their preparation for a race day. For the registration, participants should be 12 years of age or older and must be registered individually.
