It features a live harness race track located at the 5th Sideroad near the Highway 400 interchange at Innisfil Beach Road, opened in November 2001. It operates under the Standardbred Horse Racing Alliance and hosts live Standardbred racing during the summer months and a year-round calendar of grandiose harness racing events, hosting harness races every Tuesday and Saturday evening of the year. It also holds Friday night racing from October to December.
The grandstand seating can accommodate 500 persons and has a new stylized, ultra-modern gaming floor opened in August 2009. It features over 1,000 slot games like Blackjack, Poker and Roulette, Blazing 7s, Wheel of Fortune, Red Hot Jackpots, Megabucks, Triple Double Diamond, Cleopatra, and Texas Tea.
The Governor’s Room Clubhouse in the track features magnificent dining and light snacks to patrons. Moreover, there are also refreshments in the lounges and bars. Other available facilities are ATMs, a gift store, a coat check, and a free shuttle from certain spots in Barrie.
However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, viewers are not allowed. Instead, fans can only watch live racing by streaming at Georgian Downs to download free programs. Viewers have to follow strict physical distancing rules to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19. Moreover, with the new general protocol, all participants should wear face masks at all times when in the backstretch and paddock areas. Those who do not follow the rules can be ousted from the track premises.
