Hippodrome de Divonne les Bains
Hippodrome de Divonne les Bains is a horse-racing track in Divonne-les-Bains. Ain, France. It opened in 1967, at the Route du Lac.
History
It is the only racecourse of the Lake Geneva Basin, in the department of Ain, located on the Route du Lac, after the swimming pool in the direction of the Geneva-Lausanne motorway interchange, and near Lake Divonne-Les-Bains, and stands face the Haute Chaîne of the Jura massif. It was founded in 1967 and featured a trot and gallop made with the land and the lake’s sand located just in front. It is ranked in the 1st category for trot races and the 2nd category for gallop races.
The architect of the infrastructures is Jacques Bardet with engineer André Lonchampt. It is also affiliated with the Federation of Center-Est Courses, which establishes the calendar of races and covers 17 departments.
Track Details
Among the two tracks, one is a 1420m grass track for gallop racing, with a long straight measuring 300m and 16.5 m width, with course’s distances, are 1200 m, 1700 m, 2000 m, and 2400 m. The rope is on the left. The other track is a 1212m pozzolan track for trot racing, with a long straight measuring 300m, a width of 16.5m, and distances of the course are 2075m, 2675 m, and 2100 m.
On horse racing days, refreshment stands and restaurant is available. There is also a 9-hole pitch and putt golf course at the center of the hippodrome, available 220 boxes and 40 saddlery for rent. The 200 space for parking is free, and there is also access to parking, restaurant, and toilets for people with reduced mobility.
