The Tropical Turf Single

On Saturday Gulfstream Park will run the Grade 3 Tropical Turf which may serve as somewhat of a preview of the Pegasus World Cup Turf to be run January 29th. Todd Pletcher and Chad Brown both have runners that can wind up in the Pegasus at the end of the month. Pletcher’s Largent has not run since the Pegasus Turf last year where he was beaten a neck by his stablemate Colonel Liam. Largent loves the course at Gulfstream with a 4 for 6 record with two seconds. He has speed but doesn’t need [...]

Key Races & Bets for Saturday January 8, 2022

Race 7 at Gulfstream Park - Post Time 3:05 PM Eastern This is a great betting race for newly turned three year old straight maidens running a mile on dirt around one turn. It’s great because if the morning line holds up, Touch Code is going to be a HUGE low odds overlay. He opens at 7 to 2 and that may just hold up for reasons I’ll mention in the next section. Touch Code finished second to a seven length winner in his debut last month, in a field of 10, a big [...]

Key Races & Bets for Sunday December 26, 2021

San Antonio Stakes - Race 6 at Santa Anita - Post Time 4:30 PM Eastern (1:30 Pacific) Kiss Today Goodbye and Azul Coast finished second and first, respectively, and separated by a neck in the Grade 3 Native Diver Stakes last month at Del Mar. Those were huge efforts which can be repeated here, particularly as Kiss Today Goodbye won the 2020 San Antonio off a win at Del Mar one month earlier and Azul Coast ran the best race of his career two starts earlier this summer at Del Mar. The heavy favorite [...]

Key Horse Races & Expert Handicapper Bets – October 16, 2021

Race 5 at Belmont - Post Time 2:43 PM  Happy Hill Lil goes for her third straight win and although the first of the two came in a maiden claiming race and the most recent came in a non-winners of two races lifetime claiming race she fits perfectly here. Both wins came in turf sprints and the 85 and 81 Equibase Figures are BETTER than the figures earned by horses which have finished in the money recently at this first allowance level for NY Breds. She rallied from 10th in the first of the [...]
