The Wishing Well Down the Hill

There are a lot of spots to choose from on Saturday. I am going late in the day and late on the card to the last race at Santa Anita. I’ll try and close the day with a winner going six and a half down the hill.

Nine fillies are set to go let by Bay Storm who checks a lot of boxes. That said I will try and beat her for the money.

Stella Noir breaks from the rail off a win at this trip. She finishes well when on her game, but I think a few of these are a little better than her. She also runs back quick which in this case I don’t like.

Lady Joe is versatile and handles this trip. She’s a cut below a few of these in my book. Maybe a small piece at best.

Founder’s Day looks to be in deep waters. I will have to pass on her.

Bay Storm can surely win this. She cuts back to a better distance for her. She fits like a glove class wise and pace wise, and Kimura is a strong finisher who will help her. She shows up every time and likely will again on Saturday. I’ll still try and get someone to the wire faster than her.

Eddie’s New Dream is capable with her best race. She likes this trip and track and fits good here. A definite contender but I land elsewhere.

Big Summer is another contender who makes plenty of sense here and has plenty going for her. She is also as honest as they come and likely gives a good account of herself.

Countess Rosina is where I land. I think she is the one still on the improve and I believe she is coming to a peak race. The price should be fair and if I am right about her making a forward move, she should be a handful in the stretch. I’ll close out the card and day banking on her.

Freedom Flyer is another who looks a cut below a few of these. Frankie helps, but he is riding not running. He can only do so much.

Aqua Seaform Shame looks in deep water here. A pass for me.

I’ll single Countess Rosina in any multi race wagers I make. I’ll also take her over Bay Storm, Eddie’s New Dream and Big Summer in the exactas, no box, no reverse and hopefully she is the longest of the quartet of contenders.

Enjoy the races and win the photos!
