Pool Betting Modifiers & Wagering Tools

Modifiers allow a player to more efficiently make a set of wagers. Depending on the patron’s wagering strategy one or more modifiers may make sense. Specifically, our Dutching modifiers are great for WIN, EX and DBL wagers, our ABC modifier is a good tool for multi-race wagers, and our Rank betting modifiers are great when your trying to cover a large number of Trifecta, Superfecta or multi-race wagers. AmWager is committed to giving the player the best tools in the industry and that includes custom wager modifiers that can’t be found anywhere else. We are and will continue to be a leading pioneer in wagering tools.

Straight/Wheel Bet (AmWager)AmWager combines both the traditional Straight and Wheel bets into a single modifier. Simply selecting more than one runner per leg will automatically turn it into a wheel bet.
Straight Bet (Traditional)In a straight bet wager the patron selects one runner per leg in the order they believe the runners will finish. Example: Trifecta 4/1/7 means the 4 must come in 1st, the 1 in 2nd and the 7 in 3rd.
Wheel (Traditional)In a wheel wager the patron selects the runners they believe may finish in each position. This allows patrons to wager multiple straight bets at the same time. Example: Trifecta 4/1,7/1,7 means the 4 must come in 1st, the 1 or 7 must come in 2nd and the 1 or 7 in 3rd.
Box (BX)The Box modifier allows you to select the runners you think will finish in the top positions. The box bet will give every possible permutation of the runners you select. A box bet must have at least as many runners as there are legs in the bet. A trifecta box must have 3 or more runners. Example: Trifecta Box (BX) 1,4,7 will produce the following 6 straight bets: 1/4/7 1/7/4 4/1/7 4/7/1 7/1/4 7/4/1
Key Wheel (KW)A Key wheel modifier allows a player to quickly select their best picks in the first and second leg of any pool with at least 2 legs. In any pool the 2nd leg of a Key Wheel bet is copied to all remaining legs. The first leg of the wager will move down each position but other legs will not rotate. Possible Trifecta Leg Positions: Leg 1 / Leg 2 / Leg 3 Leg 2 / Leg 1 / Leg 3 Leg 2 / Leg 3 / Leg 1 Example: Trifecta Key Wheel (KW) 1,4/6,7: Will give the following “Wheel” bets by moving the legs 1,4/6,7/6,7 6,7/1,4/6,7 6,7/6,7/1,4 Which in turn yields the following 12 straight wagers: 1/6/7 1/7/6 4/6/7 4/7/6 6/1/7 6/4/7 7/1/6 7/4/6 6/7/1 6/7/4 7/6/1 7/6/4
Key Box (KB)Key Box modifier allows a player to quickly select their key picks of most single race pools with at least 2 legs. The system will give every possible permutation of the leg positions and every possible permutation of the runners within each leg. If the same runner is selected in multiple legs it will result in duplicate bets. Possible Trifiecta Key Box leg positions are: Leg 1 / Leg 2 / Leg 3 Leg 1 / Leg 3 / Leg 2 Leg 2 / Leg 1 / Leg 3 Leg 2 / Leg 3 / Leg 1 Leg 3 / Leg 1 / Leg 2 Leg 3 / Leg 2 / Leg 1 Example: Trifecta Key Box (KB) 1/4,7/4,6,7: Will give the following “Wheel” bets by moving the legs: 1/4,7/4,6,7 1/4,6,7/4,7 4,7/1/4,6,7 4,7/4,6,7/1 4,6,7/1/4,7 4,6,7/4,7/1 Which in turn yields the following 24 straight wagers: 1/4/6 1/4/7 1/7/4 1/7/6 1/4/7 1/6/4 1/6/7 1/7/4 4/1/6 4/1/7 7/1/4 7/1/6 4/6/1 4/7/1 7/4/1 7/6/1 4/1/7 6/1/4 6/1/7 7/1/4 4/7/1 6/4/1 6/7/1 7/4/1
Power Box (PB)The Power Box works nearly identical to the Key Box modifier except AFTER the Key Box is calculated it removes any duplicate wagers. Keeping the same example as above Example: Trifecta Power Box (PB) 1/4,7/4,6,7 Will results in the following 18 straight bets: 1/4/6 1/4/7 1/7/4 1/7/6 1/6/4 1/6/7 4/1/6 4/1/7 7/1/4 7/1/6 4/6/1 4/7/1 7/4/1 7/6/1 6/1/4 6/1/7 6/4/1 6/7/1 In almost all cases a Power Box is a more efficient bet than a Key Box. In both cases and even the KeyWheel you would likely be better off using our custom Rank modifier.

Dutching

Dutching is an AmWager custom modifier that allows you to maximize your possible return on investment. In a Dutch wager, you tell the system the total amount of money you want to spend on the wager and it divides it up so that if your wager wins, you will make the same amount of money on any combination. This allows you total control over cost and payout and thus gives you much more predictable returns.

ABC Wagering

ABC Wagering is a ticket structuring method made popular by Steve Crist. In each race of the bet you choose if each runner is an A (likely to win), B (could win), or C (unlikely but cannot toss) entry. The system then splits your runners into groups and adds more of your bankroll to your A runners while still giving you a payout chance if some B’s or C’s come in.
