With big races on Saturday there could be some sweet opportunities, specifically at Woodbine where you can wager with 0% takeout on ALL POOLS. A built in edge.

Five stake races begin the jackpot pick 6, for those inclined, and with a lot of eyes looking in other directions maybe there is a shot someone can sweep up the pool.

I think starting off with #1 Casson in the first leg, Race 6, The Marine Stakes is the right move.  He is three for three on the Woodbine synthetic and the synthetic race at Gulfstream he lost was not that bad and he had every right to need it. He should get a nice trip from the rail, and I think I will start things off with a single.

In Race 8, The Selene Stakes #2 Luster looks like a filly going forward and one who will appreciate the added ground. She’s the top choice on paper for me but I must mention #7 Tulip. This looks like an interesting spot for Walden to pick for this filly. Fresh off breaking her maiden on the grass he ships to Canada for a stake on synthetic with Saratoga and Ellis Park right around the corner. He may know something we don’t see in the past performances and this barn can fire anywhere.

In Race 9 I’ll ride with another single, #7 Notorious Gangster. He has a class edge, came back the right way and should appreciate the stretch out here.

Having two singles, a race with only two horses, should allow me to spread in the other races and hopefully catch a bomb or two and get some separation. It might not be a pool sweep type of ticket but it could pay fair and then some if things work out on a small investment.
