Live Horses For Saturday November 25th, 2023
I hope everyone had as Happy a Thanksgiving as they could. All the best to all of you and yours.
To the matters at hand. Let’s see if we can find a few live horses on Saturday.
In the Grade 2 Seabiscuit at Del Mar Astronomer catches my eye. He need that first race off the bench but improved and hit his best form in the following two races. They thought enough of him to take a shot at The Breeders’ Cup Mile and stable rider for Coolmore Ryan Moore who won a Breeders’ Cup undercard stake on him two years ago rode. He drew the dreadful 13 post and had a wide trip only beaten 5 or so lengths by Masteroftheseas and Mawj, better than he faces here. He should get a nice stalking trip with first run on the closers. He comes back quick but I think the two works after the Breeders’ Cup shows the connections feel he is holding his form.
I can see Astronomer sitting off Sumtner and moving at the opportune time under Rispoli who times his rides as good as anyone and can be patient when needed.
In The Comely at Aqueduct, I think Raging Sea is the one to beat and is sitting on potentially her best race to date. She moved up fast as a two-year old but was given ample time to recover from what turned out to be a hard campaign despite a light one. It took her a few starts to put things together, but I always thought she was really good, and we should find that out Saturday in Ozone Park.
Manny Franco should have Raging Sea in a good spot throughout the race from the outside draw and I think she’ll prove best when it counts.
We did our first live Past the Wire TV show this past week and the response was excellent. You can check it out HERE and yes, we plan to do more.
Enjoy the races and win the photos!
